Another year, another California Wedding Day Best Of awards ceremony! This year looked a little bit different than most—instead of dressing up for a beautiful awards ceremony and dancing the night away with our favorite wedding vendors, we were cozied up on the couch watching the awards virtually. While the night may not have been as extravagant as usual, it was just as exciting as Greengate Ranch was nominated for THREE Best Of categories this year: Best Indoor Venue, Best Outdoor Venue, and Best Overall Vendor! We are continuously honored and humbled by our fellow vendors for the love and support we receive and are super excited to say that we were voted as Best Outdoor Venue for 2020!

2020 has been a unique year to say the very least. During these trying times, it was beyond inspiring and uplifting to see our fellow wedding vendors be recognized for all the hard work they have put in to making couples’ dreams come true. Creating a wedding is a true labor of love, and nobody loves it more than the people behind the scenes making it all happen. We feel blessed to not only have our love for this industry recognized, but to be working alongside the most talented and hardworking people who we are lucky enough to call our friends!

If you could dream up your most extraordinary, one of a kind wedding, what would you do? Neon signs? Disco balls? Ombre hydrangeas greeting you at the end of the aisle? Well Madi and Jordan dreamt up their perfect wedding and it had all of those things and MORE! Alongside the amazing design/coordination duo, Lovelyfest, Madi and Jordan brought their lavender, pink, and iridescent vision to life!

The 340 guests in attendance filled the flower lined peninsula. Idlewild went above and beyond when bringing Madi’s idea of a hydrangea filled ceremony to life. Madi has had a special place in her heart for the flower ever since she was young and visited the Azores, where her great-grandparents are from and where hydrangeas are a-plenty.

The most extravagant escort display we have ever laid eyes on welcomed guests to the courtyard for cocktail hour. Madi and Jordan “had a vision of creating a three dimensional, colorful escort display to match their fun wedding design” and Lovelyfest absolutely nailed it. They went all out for this signage and we couldn’t be any more in love with it!

Guests were seated under a canopy of lights on our Grand Lawn for dinner. The weather was perfect for an early evening dinner, with the space lighting up beautifully as the sun began to set. Dinner on the lawn brings such a different feel to the wedding while really taking advantage of what Greengate has to offer and we love when couples go that route!

Barn transformation, anyone?! We could not believe how all of the vendors came together to bring our barn to LIFE. If those disco balls could be permanently installed, we wouldn’t be mad about it! “The Hines” neon sign brought everyone into the party and the dessert display and great music kept everyone there! Every detail of this barn transformation was so thought out and well executed—and also gave us some serious inspo for the future!

We’ve been waiting for this one! Kaitlyn and Kevin’s “bohemian barn wedding” was featured in Martha Stewart Weddings last month and we are so excited to share it with you. Natalie and Stephanie of Lovelyfest planned and design this gorgeous day—you can see their unique Lovelyfest touches throughout!

The couple chose to hold their ceremony down at the pond and Kaitlyn made quite the entrance! “That was one of my favorite moments of the day —driving down the hill and seeing everyone for the first time” says Kaitlyn about having her dad drive her to the ceremony in one of his classic cars. Bride and groom then exchanged traditional vows underneath a tall square frame covered with blooms in neutral colors. It was a perfect, sunny day for all of their friends and family to witness their love.

Outdoor lounges, pampas grass, and of course the signature Sidecar Cocktail Co. trailer set the scene for a quintessential central coast cocktail party. It was important to Kaitlyn & Kevin to take advantage of the season and enjoy the beautiful weather August has to offer! Guests sipped on Old Fashions and Margaritas or opted for a craft beer tasting while mingling and enjoying appetizers by Field to Table Catering & Events. Yum!

White on white centerpieces and dried florals adorned the three different table set ups in the courtyard. The center of the courtyard was left open for Kaitlyn and Kevin to share their first dance as husband and wife. They danced to a George Straight song they have loved since they first started dating—so sweet!

Soon after dinner was finished outside, everyone moved into the barn for some dancing and dessert from Paper Cake Events! Guests danced to their heart’s content under the lights and most beautiful dried floral installation. It was truly a night to remember!
