VISITS + TOURS
All visits and tours are by appointment only. Due to the nature of our working vineyard operation, as well as our event schedule, please make an appointment prior to your visit. We do not share the ranch with anyone while we have wedding weekend guests checked in, out of respect for their privacy and time here. Greengate Ranch & Vineyard is private property and we ask that you be respectful of the property and our guests.
Absolutely no smoking is permitted in our homes or buildings. As our guest, it is your responsibility to inform your visiting guests of this policy. Designated smoking areas must be agreed upon with Greengate management and designated with signage in outdoor areas only. No smoking will be permitted outside of these areas. Doing so will jeopardize the return of any security deposit collected.
Greengate Ranch & Vineyard is within the county of San Luis Obispo and is thus governed by the Sound Ordinance, as is every other venue in the county. Because amplified sound must cease at 10:00pm, the formal part of your day will come to an end and we welcome you to invite your nearest and dearest to an after party at the Ranch House. Only catch... You can't take your DJ with you.
This pertains to any and all live music, bands, DJ's, and personal playlists on professional audio equipment. The ordinance applies to our event spaces, as well as the homes on property. It is our guest’s responsibility to inform their hired musicians of this policy. Failure to comply can result a portion of your security deposit being retained.
CATERING, PLANNERS + OTHER VENDORS
We will provide you with a list of preferred and approved wedding/event vendors to assist with your plans.
In an effort to provide an excellent wedding/event experience for our guests, we require a full-service caterer be secured for your wedding. Your caterer must be selected from our approved list of vendors that have been vetted extensively to ensure that your day runs smoothly, that excellent service is provided, as well as wonderful menu selections. The vendors on our list vary both in specialized offerings as well as budget. We feel confident that our caterers will take very good care of you.
An event planner or coordinator is mandatory for this property. The ranch is vast, and there are multiple venues on the property utilized by our couples. This property requires a great deal from a coordinator or planner. A friend of the bride or family, a "month of" coordinator - does not meet our criteria for a professional planner at this property. We want you to have the best experience possible, therefore, we strongly recommend a full-service planner that can begin the planning process with you. All planners must be approved by Greengate Event Management and have a signed Coordinator Agreement with required insurance on file in advance of the event and meet the requirements that Greengate Ranch & Vineyard vendors have. If you need assistance selecting a vendor suitable, please refer to our Preferred Vendor List or communicate with us directly. We are here to be your resource. Please check with our staff to make sure that your coordinator of choice can be approved to work at the ranch. Per your agreement with us, we reserve the right to refuse vendors, given less than positive experiences.
Outside vendors are welcome to work at the ranch upon approval of management, except for the caterer.
All vendors must provide proof of insurance, including Greengate Ranch & Vineyard, LLC and Green Gate Farms SLO, LLC as additionally insured prior to the event, for the event date.
Any wedding with a guest count exceeding 300 people must provide adequate security for safety reasons. This will be at the guest's expense. We are more than happy to help schedule security services with our preferred security company. Please let us know in advance if you would like us to do so.
PETS + CHILDREN
Pets are allowed in the guest homes for an additional pet deposit for each home that the pet is in. If you are bringing your dog with you, please bring their bed. Our quality bedding and furniture is for our human guests' comfort. Please note: In the interest of your pet’s safety we do require that they are on leash at all times, directly supervised (ie. not tied up somewhere) and cleaned up after. Please keep in mind this is a working ranch with other dogs and operating machinery. Any additional cleaning costs due to pets following your check out will be passed on to you.
Children and pets must be accompanied at all times.
CONFETTI, CANDLES, SPARKLERS + MORE
No confetti, hay bales or sparklers are permitted on this property. Any violation of this policy will result in a charge. No open flame candles are allowed. All candles must be contained in a glass container that extends one inch above flame level.
Please note: no events shall utilize disposable plates, utensils, or glasses on Greengate Ranch & Vineyard property, except for in the Pool Arena. At the Pool Arena for safety reasons, glass may not be used.
Absolutely no overnight lodging (RV's or camping) is permitted on the property, outside of the accommodations on the property. We have no RV hook-ups and want to ensure that ALL guests have a great experience here at Greengate Ranch & Vineyard. We are happy to make a recommendation for guests needing RV accommodations.
Vehicles left in parking overnight will be towed at the owner's expense if not retrieved within 48 hours of event.
You are welcome to bring your own alcohol. All alcohol must be served by a licensed caterer or bartending service. If you are selling alcohol, an ABC license must be obtained and presented to us.
Greengate has tables available to you for your event; however, these items are for use in the event area only (Barn & Courtyard and Grand Lawn). If your event is held at another of our locations on site, use of outside rental items is necessary.
REHEARSAL DINNERS + AFTER PARTIES
Our hope is that you have an wonderful time here at the ranch spent making memories with family and close friends. Though we welcome rehearsal dinners and after parties at the Ranch House. They are limited to 50 people. If your party is beyond 50 guests, we do require that you have a coordinator involved and on the premises for this event. If your party is beyond 100 people, we charge an Additional Event Fee.
