Featured yesterday on Green Wedding Shoes was Amy & Tim's idyllic August 2017 wedding.  Their wedding location, design and detail focused on the mix of California coast and country.  Prim & Pixie's dreamy invitation suite mapped out illustrations of local iconic spots, including Downtown San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach Pier, and The Rock at Morro Bay.  Their escort display tied in their love of traveling together with each table labeled as a country Amy & Tim had visited together.  Katie Noonan brought all the summer feels with her mixture of pampas grass, bougainvillea, dahlias, and ranunculus. And adding to the sweetness of the relaxed summer day, Negranti Creamery served ice cream cones out of their scoop truck. It's been a couple of weeks since we came home from the California Wedding Day Best of 2018 awards banquet.  Almost every year since our first wedding in 2014, we have been blessed enough to come home with an award for one of the "Best Venue" categories, whether it be Best Outdoor Venue or Best Overall Venue.  This year, we sat in the audience nominated in two categories - Best Outdoor Venue and Best Overall Vendor (say what!).  We were so humbled to celebrate the night with the Best Overall Vendor award in our hands, with our Central Coast vendor community dancing by our side! You might have read our website's Our Story page, and if not, then let me tell you it's quite a good love story to hear.  The historic Greengate property lost it's glow for a while after its prior owner passed away.  Our current owner reignited that by making Greengate's revival his labor of love.  And since our first wedding, we have continually strived to better the property, the beauty of the land, the accommodations, and our service.  It's amazing to feel recognized for that and inspires us to do more.  We look forward to another year of progress and another year awaiting the next California Wedding Day Best Of awards.  And keep a look out, because we have big plans for Greengate ahead...

Gabby & Tri were one of our October 2017 couples (and possibly two of the sweetest people you could ever meet).  Tri's family came from beautiful Hawaii, so a little tropical flare was a must throughout their wedding weekend.  That wasn't the only noticeable piece of their wedding, though.  100 Layer Cake also noticed the perfectly executed rustic modern mix that defined their big day.  More STUNNING photos can be seen here on the 100 Layer Cake Feature. The Weekend | While Gabby & Tri's wedding day was undoubtedly spectacular, our Greengate team had the joy of witnessing the whole weekend, and let us tell you - they did things right! This crew stayed with us from Wednesday to Sunday, using the first couple days to settle in, relax, and enjoy surrounding San Luis Obispo.  Following Friday's rehearsal, they held Rehearsal Dinner at the Ranch House with family and friends.  Saturday morning, Tri put on his tuxedo print wetsuit and took his guys out to surf in nearby Pismo Beach, while Gabby and her girls got ready in the house.  Sunday morning, guests enjoyed an onsite poolside brunch from local Sally Loo's Wholesome Cafe before calling an end to the weekend fun. A big thanks to 100 Layer Cake for letting us relive the love of Gabby and Tri's wedding weekend and congratulations to Gabby & Tri!
